20 ORGANIZING TASKS YOU CAN TACKLE IN UNDER 20 MINUTES (and most are under $20)

We all want to get our entire house organized perfectly like yesterday! But for many of us that is not happening! How about if you take just a few minutes and do a small area? It will make you feel great and it’s more realistic. Below I compiled a list of mini organizing tasks that you can do in UNDER 20 MINUTES and most of them COST LESS THAN $20!

1)Water bottles- Many of us have way too many reusable water bottles!  Toss or give away any water bottle that is broken, missing covers or is no longer used. A  water bottle organizer like this one keeps you on track with the one in-on-out rule.  That  way you won’t have too many.

2) Do you have small games or card games  floating around the shelves of your game closet? A card game organizer like this one is a “game changer”. The box fits 6 games so it’s space saving, easy to clean up and so organized!

3) The junk drawer- Remove everything. Use these drawer inserts and only put back what you really need handy. The less you keep there, the better! Of course, maintenance is key.

4) Baking pans- gather them together and store them vertically using this amazing product

5) Placemats- How about storing them on a lower cabinet door using this organizer for easy access?

6) Remove teas that come in packets and put them in this beautiful organizer. Takes a few minutes and saves so much space.

7) Spices- Grab a handy dandy lazy Susan like this one (or if you’re a real cook, you might need 6!) and you’ll be done in a few minutes!

8) Large kitchen drawers are amazing but they need to be divided up so they stay organized! Use dividers like these ones to keep your drawer organized!

9) I like keeping bags and wraps in a shallow kitchen drawer. This bag organizer is what dreams are made of!

10) Are your papers all over the  place? Ok, I’ll admit for some people, this isn’t a 20 minute job but if you get your papers under control it SHOULD only take 20 minutes (or even less!) Here’s how: Go through your papers and get rid of as much as possible! Write down the info you need and toss the paper. Then keep just 2 piles. “To do” and “to keep” and put them in these magazine holders. Maintenance is mandatory weekly!!

11) Do you have a place to keep your kids' coats? Hang this row of hooks in a closet, side hallway to create your mini “Mudroom”

12) Organize your medicine cabinet in less than 20 minutes! Categorize your medicines into these categories: kids meds, adult meds , vitamins, first aid etc . Put them in these bins and don’t forget to label the bins.

13) Bags need a home. Get this bag organizer so you don’t keep too many bags! (It’s like portion control for our stuff! Lol!)

14) Are your shoes messy in the bottom of your closet? A simple shoe shelf like this is all you need! Voila!

15) Does your broom keep falling out of the closet? Hang this broom organizer and keep your brooms in place.

16) Hair accessories can be a hairy mess! In just a few minutes you can have them all organized with this cute little organizer

17) Are your belts all over the place? A simple organizer like this is all you need. A few minutes and a few dollars and we’re done!

18) Ties- Most men have way too many ties that they don’t even use! Go through them and get rid of any tie that is not worn, is outdated, or is stained. Then, a simple organizer like this or this can do the trick. Probably the hardest part about this task is to “tie” your husband down to actually do this mini job (that was a joke!) .

19) Separate your occasional and extra makeup stock from your daily makeup. Corral your daily makeup in a caddy like this one and cut your morning makeup routine in ½!

20) Do you find it difficult to keep your tablecloths folded neatly on a pile? I did! Until I discovered these tablecloth hangers . Now I can get the tablecloth I need easily.

I am passionate about making an organized life accessible to everyone! Don’t allow yourself to buy into the excuses of “I have no time, money , space, my kids…. blah blah blah…” A small job can go a long way! Organizing is not all or nothing! Every bit of effort makes a difference! Which task are you tackling today?
